The Acetaia opens its doors to enthusiasts and curious visitors wishing to discover the world of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar.
Guided tours offer the opportunity to experience one of the most authentic traditions of the Modena region: a journey among the ancient batterie of barrels, where guests can retrace the history of the Acetaia, discover the secrets of production and appreciate the slow ageing process that has made Modena’s Black Gold a world-renowned symbol of excellence.
The experience concludes with a guided tasting of Balsamic Vinegars of different ages, offering the opportunity to explore their evolution over time and discover the distinctive characteristics of each through textures, aromas and delicate nuances.

Two experiences designed to take visitors on a journey of discovery through the world of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar: from an intimate tasting experience in the Acetaia to a complete gastronomic immersion featuring the finest local specialties.
Tour l'Acetaia
An immersion in an ancient tradition, offering a journey through the timeless charm of the Acetaia and its treasures, surrounded by barrels, rich aromas and artisanal craftsmanship handed down through generations.
What the Experience includes:
- A guided tour of the Acetaia, exploring the production rooms and historic barrels;
- An introduction to the history and heritage of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar;
- An insight into the production process, from the cooking of the must to the slow ageing in wooden barrels.
Duration: Approx 1 hour
Tour Il Castello
From the Acetaia to the table, Balsamic Vinegar continues its culinary journey through carefully curated pairings that enhance its balance and celebrate the authentic flavours of local tradition.
What the Experience includes:
- A private tour of the Acetaia, discovering the ageing rooms and historic batterie of barrels;
- A deeper insight into the history and heritage of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar;
- A detailed overview of the production process regulated by strict standards, from the cooking of the must to the slow ageing in wooden barrels.
Durata: Approx 2 hours 30 minutes
Visitor Information:
Opening days and hours: Tours are available by reservation from Monday to Friday during the following time slots: 9:00 am–12:00 pm and 2:30 pm–5:00 pm. Weekend visits can be arranged upon request for groups of at least 10 participants.
Groups and private visits: Tours are available for individuals, families and small groups with the possibility of organising personalised experiences including corporate events.
Languages spoken: Italian, English, French, Spanish.
Accessibility and parking: The property offers private on-site parking. The experience takes place across the ground and first floors, with the first floor accessible via internal stairs.
Shop: Guests can purchase a selection of Traditional Balsamic Vinegars, Reserve editions and other Acetaia products directly from the Shop.
